Waylon J. Chambers, 77, born March 8, 1944 died Aug. 15, 2021 at his home peacefully in Sims, AR with his wife and daughter by his side.
He was a 1962 graduate of Mount Ida High. He was a Vietnam Veteran, where he served as a medic in Germany. He retired from the Arkansas Hwy Transportation Department after 33 ½ years where he was the construction project supervisor. He and his wife continued their cattle farming operation.
He is preceded in death by his parents Waymon and Janie, one brother; Johnny Chambers, two sisters; Jean (Bub) Reynolds and Ann (Jake) Hutchinson.
He is survived by his wife; Jone (Milholen) Chambers of 57 years, daughter Angela (Art) Halstead, grandchildren Will and Erica Halstead, step-grandchild Amanda (Noah) Heinrich (Lee and Bailee), one sister Ava (Bill) McVitty, one sister-in-law Marsha Chambers, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be Friday, August 20, 2021, 10:00 am at Rocky Cemetery in Sims, Arkansas, with Bro. Jerry Stewart officiating. Pallbearers: Jeff and Kevin Wilson, Bill McKim, Neil Johnston Travis Milholen and Bill Jones. Honorary pallbearers: Sammy Jones, Dale Williams, Olen Wilson, Dr. Divers (Genesis Cancer Staff), Arkansas Hospice Staff of Hot Springs.
