John Robert Barber

John Robert Barber, 72, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019. John was born on June 13, 1947, in Watson, AR, to the late John Toy and Thelma Lavada (Ohler) Barber. John is preceded in death by his son John David Barer, his parents, his brother; Larry Barber and 2 sisters; Edith Hand and Sue Johnson.

John was retired after working as a Lab Technician for 27 years at St. Joseph Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas. John enjoyed volunteering his time to the Area Agency on Aging and Legacy Hospice. John also loved fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son; Kelly Barber and wife Marsha, and daughter; Sonja Peacock and husband Jody, 9 grandkids, 4 great-grandchildren, 10 brothers and sisters, numerous nephews and nieces along with a host of other friends and family.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 12:00pm at Thornton Funeral Home with services following at 1pm with Bro. Bo Palmer officiating. Graveside will be at Barber Cemetery in Sims, AR. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Barber, Raymond Barber, Michael Barber, Robert Barber, Bear Jones, and Jody Peacock. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida, AR.
