Geneva Ann Henson

Geneva Ann Henson, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Mena, Arkansas. She was born June 9, 1933, in Lawrence County, Ohio, to Rom and Meda Roach.

She graduated from high school in Marietta, Ohio and worked as a telephone operator until she moved to Oden, Arkansas in 1963. There she met and married William A. (Bill) Henson. Geneva worked at the Bank of Montgomery County and helped Bill farm. She was a devoted mother, always active in her children’s lives and was a long-time member of Oden Baptist Church, where she especially loved singing.

Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Donna Ellington.

She is survived by her daughters Nancy Bridwell and Joyce Schumacher, step daughter Lorriane Hampton, grandchildren Sarah (Cody), Larry Powell, Sharon Colyar, Cathy Farmer, Beverly (Kenny) King, Phillip (Angie) Gibby, Ricky Gibby Matt Melton and JR Schumacher,11 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 21, 2026, 3-5pm at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be held at Oden Baptist Church Monday June 22, 2026 at 10am with Bro. David Tucker officiating. Pallbearers are Randy Carter, Ricky Leonard, Larry Powell, John Powell, Phillip Gibby and Matt Melton. Burial at Pine Ridge Cemetery.
