Darrell Eugene Duke

Darrell Eugene Duke, 96, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, at the Montgomery County Nursing Home facility in Mt. Ida, AR. He was born on March 6, 1930, to Burl Rixey Duke and Gladys Warren Duke of Norman, AR. He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Sadie West Duke, who passed away on June 26,2026. He was also predeceased by his parents, only sibling, Norma Jean Barrett, one son Russell Eugene Duke (infant), two daughters – Donna Duke Hubert of Sherwood, AR, Marie Duke of Glenwood, AR, and granddaughter Alissa Hoffman of Sherwood, AR.

Darrell is survived by daughter Paula Duke of Hot Springs, AR, twin sons – Troy Duke (Shannon) of Little Rock, AR and Tracy Duke (Jane) of Bentonville, AR, Grandchildren – Alan Tackett (Rebecca) of Little Rock, AR, Jessie Houser (Adam) Bauxite, AR, Meredith Duke of Little Rock, AR, Jackson Duke, Hudson Duke, and Lawson Duke all of Bentonville, AR as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren.

Darrell was a United States Navy veteran having joined in the early spring of 1949. He returned to Mt. Ida in 1950 to marry his high school sweetheart, Sadie West. Darrell worked for International Paper Company for 31 years; living in various cities in the state.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
