Billy Doyle Whisenhunt

Billy Doyle Whisenhunt, 85, of Mount Ida, AR, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Saturday, November 9, 2024, in Hot Springs, AR. He was born October 1, 1939, in Sims, AR. to Doyle and Ellen (Gibbs) Whisenhunt. He is preceded in death by both his parents, his beloved son William Jeffery Whisenhunt, and a infant sister Devra Ann Whisenhunt.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Joann (Short) Whisenhunt , his beloved daughter Tracy Joann Roberts, beloved grandson Jeffery Steven Jones (Stephanie), great granddaughter that was the light of his life Allison Joann Jones, better known as “Miss Fancy Pants”, sister Carolyn (Whisenhunt) Short, brothers Joe Whisenhunt (Kathy), Phil Whisenhunt (Kay), nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. 

Billy was a devout Christian. He was a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard. A lifelong love of flying that led to him obtaining a commercial pilots license, a hardworking man who was a wonderful provider for his family. He had several beloved dogs in his lifetime, most recent Tank and Poppie.
