Wilma Ferguson

Wilma Ferguson, 88, of Mount Ida, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Montgomery County Nursing Home. She was born on September 17, 1931 in Rio Hondo, TX, to the late Thomas Otto Johnson and Anna Maude May Johnson. Wilma was married to the late Harley Ferguson Jr. on May 28, 1949. They had one son, the late Thomas Howard Ferguson. She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Wilma and her husband Harley owned and operated the Dairyette in Mount Ida, for 24 years.

Wilma is survived by a special niece; Ramona Abernathy and husband Wade; special nephew; Waylon Abernathy III and wife Tori, and several nieces and nephews, and a host of other friends and family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12th, 2020, 5 pm-7 pm at Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida, Arkansas. Service will be held Thursday, February 13th, 2020, 2pm, at Mount Ida Baptist Church in Mount Ida, Arkansas, with Bro. Joe Bagwell officiating. Interment will follow at Monroe Cemetery in Harvey, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Richard Pierce, Charles Williams, Ed Davis, John Hernandez, Dr. Mike Tannehill and Bill Lenderman. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church building fund in Mount Ida, AR. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida, AR.
