William Douglas "Doc" Scurlock

William Douglas “Doc” Scurlock, 51, of Mount Ida, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 8th, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Doug was born November 1st, 1971, to Willie D. and Margaret Ann (Tubbs) Scurlock, in Hot Springs. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ollie and Gracie Tubbs, grandmother, Margaret Golden, grandfather, Orpheus Scurlock and a very special friend, Marsha Ruth.

Some of Doug’s hobbies were fishing, hunting, karaoke with Hoffy, spending time with his friends and family but most of all being PopPop to his grand babies and uncle to 2 special nieces Jessica (Pooh) Austin and Haleigh (Ellis) Tracy, Doug was Pooh’s first date for a Valentine’s dance.

Doug is survived by his wife, April Scurlock of 28 years, parents, Bill and Margaret Ann Scurlock, his sons, Trevor Scurlock (Kara), Logan Scurlock (Hayley) and Dalton Scurlock, his brothers, Michael Scurlock (Phyllis) and George Scurlock, his sisters, Brookie Mayberry (Marty) and Marlene Rowan (Bob), and his grandchildren, Lydia and Lennox Scurlock, nephews and along with a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 10th, 2022, 5:00-7:00 pm at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Ida. Service will be Friday, November 11th, 2022, 2:00 pm at Faith Tabernacle Church in Mount Ida, with Bros. Don Vaughn and Troy Sullivan officiating. Interment will be at Stanley Standridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ira Mayberry, Jeremy Austin, Hunter Ellis, Skylar Scurlock, Tyler Scurlock and Easton Tracy. Honorary pallbearers are Matt Rae and Gene Ellis.
