Verna Mae Downs

Verna Mae Westbrook Downs, age 82, of Sims, AR, formally of Benton, AR, passed away February 4, 2022. Verna was born October 29, 1939 in Haskell, AR. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Bill and Vida Westbrook and the love of her life, her husband, Gene Downs.

Verna is survived by 3 daughters; Cheryl (Paul) Gray, Karen (Terry) Keaton, and Teresa (Terry) Puryear, 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 spoiled Chihuahua named Nugget, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8, 2022, 9-10am at Pencil Bluff Baptist Church in Pencil Bluff, service will be at 10am, with Bro. Mitch Odem officiating and burial at the Pencil Bluff Cemetery. Pallbearers will be; Bobby Fryar, Michael Hobson, Gary Hernandez, Lee Klutts, Bob Smith and Charles Priddy. A special thanks to her Fiddle DeDe Family.
