She was the oldest of nine children born to Homer Horton, Sr. and Amy Sanders Horton. As a child, Patsy helped care for her younger siblings and often worked with her family in the cotton fields. All her life, she loved babies and children and was a hard worker.

She married Marion Norrell (MN) Gray in June of 1949. They had two daughters. She was a homemaker for much of her life. She owned and operated Gray’s Bait Shop for 19 years and then volunteered at the Montgomery County Nursing Home Auxiliary Thrift Store for over 20 years.

Patsy loved her family and friends fiercely and treasured spending time with them. As she was known for her sharp, quick wit and sense of humor, these get-togethers always included much laughter. She also loved needlework and was known for her beautiful and delicate doilies. Other hobbies included tending her flowers and roses and playing Scrabble and word games, at which she excelled. All of her grandchildren called her MeMaw, and so did their friends. She was a well-loved member of the community who frequently volunteered for good causes.
