Patricia Scott

Patricia Scott, age 82, of Mount Ida, AR passed peacefully at home on August 7, 2022, surrounded by those she loved. She was born on October 1, 1939. The daughter of Dossie Singleton and Thursie Scott. Patricia (Pat) is preceded in death by both of her parents, her beloved husband of 59 years, Waymon E. Scott, and infant daughter, Rachelle E. Scott.

Pat lovingly known as Nana, loved her family and enjoyed keeping up with all the great grands adventures. She was blessed with many dear friends and enjoyed sharing laughs and memories with them. God gave her a heart for animals and fed any animal that showed up at her house. Flower arranging was her talent, but the hobby dearest to her heart was gathering, sorting and sharing family history…. However, none of these things are greater to share than her decision to ask Christ to be her Lord and Savior and get baptized at the age of 80 years old. She was so loved and will be greatly missed but thank you Jesus we have the promise of seeing her again.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Tamara (Scott) Parnell and husband Delbert, Latresa (Scott) Lawrence and husband Horace, bonus son, Russel Hurley, 4 granddaughters, Brittany (Parnell) Quinn and husband Joe, Kristen (Parnell) Thew and husband Jacob, Deidra Lawrence, and Morgan Lawrence, 6 great grandchildren, Paige, Gage Carson, Tatum, Annistyn and Parker, sister-in-law, Blanche Howton of Greenville, TX, and a host of other extended family and wonderful friends.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Thornton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 11, 2022, in the square of Mount Ida at Community Outreach Church with Bro Josh Harper officiating with a graveside to follow at Pencil Bluff. Pallbearers: Gage Davis, Jacob Thew, Joe Quinn, Pete Quinn, Connor Hurley, Charlie Chambers, Tatum Thew and Carson Lawrence. Honorary Pallbearers: Staff of CHI ST. Vincent clinic in Mount Ida, Dr. Verser and the late Shannon Taylor; Elite Hospice of Mena, Laura Wagner of Mount Ida Pharmacy. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornton Funeral Service in Mt.
