Nathan Lynn Whitehouse

Nathan Lynn Whitehouse, 68, of Story, Arkansas, born in Odessa, Texas, passed

away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21st, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot

Springs, AR, surrounded by his family. Dearly loved son of Minnie and the late

Paul Whitehouse of Oden, Arkansas. Grandson of the late Ada Nell Clark of Pencil

Bluff. Greatly loved sister and brother-in-law of Sharon and Woody Powell (North

Little Rock), brother and sister-in-law of Gary and Olwyn Whitehouse (Royal) and

Richard (Rick) and Cindy Whitehouse (Atlanta, TX). Loving uncle of Austin, Jacob,

Andrew, Kevin, Calvin and Stephanie. He will be dearly missed by family and

friends.


Moving from Odessa, TX to Oden in 1966, Nathan attended Oden High School

graduating in 1973 and after studying at U of A moved to Houston, Texas where he

was employed for several years at the Shell Oil Research Center, then held many

positions in the telecommunications industry until retirement. Nathan moved out

of Houston to Stokes Rd, Bellville, Texas from 2000 – 2015 into a custom home he

designed. He moved back to Montgomery County, Arkansas in 2015 to be closer

to his family and became an accomplished artist in stained and fused glass giving

away many pieces and displaying and selling items at the Ouachita Artist Gallery

in Mount Ida. He was a former board member for the Heritage House Museum of

Montgomery County.


Nathan (Nate) enjoyed driving his white Dodge Challenger, jazz music, good wine,

gardening and flowers, glass work, visiting with friends, cooking and he made

delicious lemon chess pies for the holidays. Nathan’s cat Caly died in April 2022

living a comfortable life with Nathan for 21 years. He also enjoyed watching for

fireflies in June and wildlife in his yard at Story.


Special thanks to Patti Presley and Edwenna Rowland and many friends for their

incredible support over the past few years. Also, a special thank you to the

doctors and staff at the Genesis Cancer and Blood Institute and the CHI St.

Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs.

July 22, 2023 at Nathan’s home in Story. Messages to the Whitehouse family at
