Marla Marie Domerese

With great sadness, the Domerese family announces the passing of our beloved Marla Marie Domerese, 70 years old, of Mount Ida, Arkansas, on July 04, 2023. This unexpected loss sits heavy in our hearts, but we are so grateful to have had her as a part of our family for the last 14 years.

Marla was born in Lynwood, California on January 17, 1953, to parents Dorothy and William Condon. She lived in many places over the years but finally settled in Arkansas with her best friend and husband, Gary Domerese. They were two peas in a pod from the day they met on February 5th in Alma, Arkansas – immediately becoming inseparable. She enjoyed spending lots of time outdoors, traveling in their RV around the country, and loving on their furbaby Chloe. Marla’s kindness and thoughtfulness will be forever missed. She loved creating for her family through crocheting and sewing, and we are blessed to have many handmade treasures to remember her by.

Marla was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cara Davenport; her first husband, Ronald Purdom; and her father-in-law, Clarence Domerese. She is survived by her husband, Gary Domerese; three sons, Jared Purdom, Terry Domerese and his wife Sara, Kevin Domerese and his wife Heather; one daughter, Kristin Guess and her husband Greg; eight grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Earlene Domerese; two sisters, Denice Lapensee and Sheila Lahey; a sister-in-law, Lesa Davis and her husband Mike; and a brother-in-law, Rick Domerese and his wife Pam.

A celebration of Marla’s life will be held Friday, July 14, 2023, 1:00 pm, at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornton Funeral Service in Mt. Ida. Guest register at www.thorntonfh.com
