Marion Clarice Raymond

Marion C Raymond, 89, of Oden, AR, passed away March 21, 2024, at home in Oden, Arkansas. Marion was born January 20, 1935, in Chino, California to Vilas Strod and Mariam (Miller) Maddox. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 60 years John S. Raymond, son Thomas Duane Scoggin.

Marion was baptized in Lawton, OK, at the age of 13. After high school Marion went on to be a Developmental Therapist and worked for Glenwood State Hospital in Iowa. Moved to Arkansas in 2015. Enjoyed animals of all kinds, crafts. Helped a lot of people in her lifetime and was a very kind loving person.

Marion is survived by her daughters Ava Jean Enslow and Sharon Wetherbe. two adopted sons David Raymond and Thomas Raymond, sons of Thomas Scoggins, sister Emma Clemons and husband Bill, granddaughter Terry Harper and husband Jim, Marion Brack, Shannon Rippey Chapman, grandson Nathan Rippey, great nieces and nephew, aunts, uncles and a host of other family and friends.

Celebration of life will be Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Hog Jaw at 2pm, with Bro. Arlie Francis and Rev. Nathan Rippey officiating. Marion’s cremains along with her husband John will be taken back to Texas and buried by their son Thomas in Ashton Cemetery in Joaquin, TX.
