Marian Edith Edmonds

On February 4, 2021, Marian Edith (Jackson) Edmonds, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, departed this life and was reunited with family and friends she had longed to see for some time.

Marian was born on February 24, 1943, to Jimmy and Hazel (Amerson) Jackson, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was raised in Mt. Ida and was a 1961 graduate of Mt. Ida High School. She worked at the shoe factory in Mt. Ida until moving to Jacksonville, where she worked as a surgical technician at Rebsamen Regional.

Marian was an eternal optimist and always saw the best in everyone. She had a deep love for her family, church family, friends, Razorback basketball, and the Lord. Her journals were full of daily prayers in which she had a written log of everyone she prayed for that day. She spent hours of everyday in prayer for family, friends, public servants, teachers, political leaders, and for this deadly virus, which ultimately lead to her passing, to go away. She enjoyed gardening, yard-saling, and spending time with friends. She never missed a day of watching Governor Hutchinson’s daily Covid press conferences.

She is survived by her son, Keith (Lesley), of Bruno, Arkansas; six grandchildren Evyn Edmonds, Allie Edmonds, Alec Edmonds, Laura (Greg) McCuddy, Clifton (Christie) Edmonds-Godush, and Keith Edmonds-Godush; and five great-grandchildren; special friends Bryant and Ruby Allen, Faye Shields, Wanda Rose, Dorothy Meyers, Will Harris, Brian and Debbie Bostic, her church family at Victory Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas, and a host of other friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude; a son, William Lee and daughter, Sheila Delayne, who died at birth; her siblings, Eddie Jackson, Bill Jackson, and Helen Noles.

The graveside service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lone Valley Cemetery in Sims, Arkansas, with Mike Branscum officiating.
