Joyce M. Badger

Joyce M. Badger, 83, of Mount Ida, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at the Montgomery County Nursing Home. She was born October 15, 1939, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to William J. and Ruth Edna (Ziegler) Smith. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, husband, George D. Badger, a sister, Leona Smith Burke and a brother, Alvah Smith.

Joyce is survived by her sister, Barbara Smith Siemon (Bob Siemon) of Pennsylvania, her 2 sons, Plummer Badger of Mount Ida and Neal Badger of Oden, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In her lifetime Joyce held several jobs which included working for Tyson, Mount Ida Shoe Factory and other jobs, but most notable, was when she worked as a draftsman designing submarine panel boards.

Joyce dearly loved her animals, her horses, dogs and chickens.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022, 2:00pm, at Mount Zion Cemetery on Liberty Road in Norman, Arkansas, with Bro. David Rouse officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornton Funeral Service in Mt. Ida. Guest register at www.thorntonfh.com
