John W Scrimshire

John William Scrimshire, 97, of Mount Ida, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022, in Hot Springs. He was born August 14, 1925, in Washita, Arkansas, to the late William Wesley and Olivia Zora (Baker) Scrimshire. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Christine Scrimshire and his brother, Bill Scrimshire.

John is survived by his sons, James (Sheila) Scrimshire, Wayne Scrimshire, Dale (Kathleen) Scrimshire and David Scrimshire, 5 grandchildren, Elicia (Jason) Bergum, Jimmy (Katie) Scrimshire, Gina (Scottie) Avant, Jarrod Scrimshire, and Hannah Scrimshire, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Wanda Scrimshire, 1 nephew, William “Little Bill” Scrimshire and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26th, 2022, 5:00-7:00 pm, at the Thornton Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service Thursday, October 27th, 2022, 10:00 am, at Washita Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Scrimshire, Wayne Scrimshire, Dale Scrimshire, David Scrimshire, Jarrod Scrimshire, Jimmy Scrimshire, Trent Morrison and Landon Scrimshire. The family would like to thank CHI St Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs and the Montgomery County Nursing Home in Mt. Ida for the care showed to John during his time of sickness.
