Jerry Justin Layne

Jerry Justin Layne, age 71, of Mt. Ida passed away in his home on May 12th, 2021. He was born on November 3rd, 1949 in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aletha Summitt Seals and Barton L “Jack” Seals.

Survivors include one daughter; Angela (Jason) Bull, one brother; Billy Wayne Elder, two sisters; Anita Riley and Verda Sue Dillard, one grandson; Jadyn Bull, and one granddaughter; Ary Bull.

He was a member of the Mount Gilead Baptist church in Norman.

We all knew Jerry for his dry sense of humor, and he loved making you question if he was serious or joking. He was an avid hunter and fisher, and there was no place that made him happier than the woods & the lake. When he wasn’t there, he might be found enjoying a good game of cards or visiting with his friends.

His family would like to thank his nurses; Kallie, Crystal, Barbara and Vickie for their kindness and care.

Graveside service will be Friday, May 14, 2021, 10:00 am, at Lone Valley Cemetery in Sims, Arkansas.
