Gene Hennon Howard

Gene Hennon Howard, 92, of Mount Ida, Arkansas, passed away December 1, 2020, at Montgomery County Nursing Home in Mount Ida, Arkansas. Gene was born September 15, 1928 in Florence, Arkansas to the late James and Stella (Hennon) Howard. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Adolph Howard, sisters; Aline Allison, Madge Lemons, Marie Harper and Helen Yates.

He served 2 years in the Army in World War II. He was stationed in Japan.

Gene and Lillian (Lynn) were married on July 8th, 1951.

They have 2 sons; Larry (Cindy) Howard of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Ray (Tina) Howard of Bryant, Arkansas.

They are blessed with 4 wonderful grandchildren; Lindsay Fell, Jana Jones, Cade and Sarah Howard, 3 great grandchildren; Samuel Campos, Henry Fell and Magnolia Jones.

Gene and Lillian spent many years crappie fishing on Lake Ouachita. They shared their catch with family and friends.

Gene would like to be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was so proud of his family. He cherished time spent with them.

He was the owner of Howard’s Air Conditioning in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He passed on a legacy of traditional family values and a strong work ethic.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Baptist Church of Mount Ida Building Fund 204 Luzerne Street Mount Ida, AR 71957.

Graveside service will be held Friday, December 4th, 2020, 10:00 am at Mount Ida Cemetery.
