Fred William Atkinson

Fred Atkinson, 77, of Mount Ida, Arkansas, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022, in Hot Springs. He was born September 30, 1944, in Calallen, Texas to Hoy L. and Ida Irene (Leggett) Atkinson. Fred is preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife; Sharon Atkinson, a sister; Natala Esterak and brother; Jasper Atkinson.

Fred is survived by his son, Matthew Atkinson, 2 brothers, Don Atkinson and wife Doreen of Victoria, Texas and James Atkinson and wife Virginia of Lorena, Texas, sister-in-law, Linda Atkinson of Corpus Christi along with a host of nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Graveside service will be Monday, February 21, 2022, 12:30pm at the Pencil Bluff Cemetery in Pencil Bluff, Arkansas, with Bros. Mitch Odem and David Rouse officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida, Arkansas. Guest register at www.thorntonfh.com
