Emma Idell (Barber) Elder

Idell Elder gained her heavenly wings on August 9, 2020, at the Montgomery County Nursing Home. She was the youngest child born to Louis Miller Barber and Florence (Oller) Barber on January 4, 1920, at Sims, Arkansas.

She married Gilford Elder July 5, 1937, they had four sons. Idell is pre-deceased by two sons, Arle Elder and Gary (Buck) Elder. She is survived by two sons, Joe Lewis Elder (Kathy) and Ted Elder, both of Mount Ida and one daughter-in law, Dorothy Elder of Sims; 10 grandchildren, Deb Hunt (Dennis), Darla Elder, Chris Elder (Karen), Teresa Chafin (Randy), Stacy Clearwater, Christine Doyle (Doug), James Keenom (Missy), Gary Elder (Shelly), Heather Howe (David), and Amber Weston (Teddy), 30 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren and two special friends, Val Mena and Lee Elder. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons.
Idell enjoyed recording her history and genealogy and spending time with her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Montgomery County Assisted Living and the Montgomery County Nursing Home for their excellent care through the years.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 12th, 2020, 10:00am at Barber Cemetery in Sims, Arkansas with Bro. Larry Carr officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida, AR. Guest register at www.thorntonfh.com
