Edwina Mae Gilzow

Edwina Mae Reutz Gilzow of Mount Ida, AR, went to her heavenly reward on Feb. 19, 2021. She was 87. She was born March 9, 1933, in Mabelvale, AR, to Edward Walter Reutz and Ella Mae Reutz.

She was a proud homemaker and a 36-year member of Lake Ouachita Baptist Church, where she served as organist for 30 years. Previously, she played organ and taught Sunday School for many years at First Baptist Church of Bryant, AR. She also volunteered for three decades at the Montgomery County Nursing Home thrift shop in Mount Ida.

She is predeceased by her husband, James L. Gilzow, in July 2020; a sister, Meta (Rochelle) R. Hirrill.

She is survived by two sons, James E. Gilzow and wife Donna of Bella Vista, AR, and Charles (Chuck) W. Gilzow and wife Quinette of Hot Springs, AR; three grandchildren, Jennifer L. McCann of Little Rock, AR, James (Tommy) T. Glanton of Alaska, and Tessa Lynn Gilzow of Hot Springs, AR; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and brothers/sisters in Christ.

A memorial service for Edwina and Jim Gilzow will be held at a later date.
