Donald "Ted" Abernathy

Donald Edward “Ted” Abernathy, 91, of Oden, Arkansas, passed away in Hot Springs, Saturday, September 3, 2022. He was born November 17, 1930, in Oden to Jessie and Virdie (Fryar) Abernathy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son; Don Abernathy, grandson; Cole Abernathy, wife; JoAnn Abernathy, wife; Katie Abernathy, 7 brothers and 1 sister.

Ted is survived by his son; Steve Abernathy and his wife; Connie, daughter-in-law; Joyce Abernathy, his granddaughters; Marcie Newberry and her husband Stephen, Sarah Saragusa and her husband Jason, Elisabeth Flowers and her husband Joe, grandson Clay Abernathy and his fiancé Anna, and 7 great grandsons.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022, 5:00-7:00 pm at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022, 2:00 pm, at the Pencil Bluff Church of Christ with Bro. Barry Norman officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Abernathy, Richard Abernathy, Stan Miller, Mike Abernathy, Willis Sams and Jeff Crumpton. Burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery.
