Della Mae Beggs

Della Mae Beggs, 84, of Mount Ida, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 13, 1936, in Mount Ida, to Ed and Mabel (Qualls) Hulsey. Della is preceded in death by both her parents, a sister; Betty Gaston and a brother; Sonny Hulsey.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years; Lonnie Beggs, son; Michael (Glenda) Beggs, daughters; Tammy Long and Tina Brown, grandchildren; Tiffany (Jeremy) McConathy and Dakota Brown, great-grandchildren; Zane McConathy and Nora McConathy, sisters; Wanda Raines, Norma Minton, Linda Stinson, Janice (Tim) Miller and Becky (Greg) Dixon, brother, Jimmy (Kathy) Hulsey and sister-in-law; Barbara Hulsey and a host of other family and friends.

Della Mae worked for several years for Indianapolis Glove Factory, Mount Ida Shoe Factory, Ozark Boys Camp. She also was the dietician for the nursing home and school district.

She loved to grow flowers and her yard was always full of beautiful blossoms. Della Mae always had the family gatherings at her house where she would prepare wonderful homemade meals. She also enjoyed decorating her home for Christmas and loved her angels. Della loved Razorback games too.

She was a loving mother, grandmother “Nan” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 13, 2021, 6:00-8:00pm, at the Thornton Funeral Home chapel. Graveside service will be Friday, May 14, 2021, 2:00 pm, at Lone Valley Cemetery in Sims, Arkansas.
